About the Clinic
What is HealthKey Group?
HealthKey Group · Wellington began in 1995 as a small Manhattan acupuncture clinic with a single practitioner. Today, we are a team of highly skilled providers including doctors of physical therapy, experienced acupuncturists, and licensed massage therapists. All of our acupuncturists are trained in TCM principles and take a holistic approach to wellness — covering pain management, women's health, fertility, weight management, and more. We work closely with each patient to build a treatment plan that aligns with your unique needs and goals.

About Acupuncture
Does acupuncture hurt?
Most patients feel only a mild heaviness or a faint electric tingle (TCM calls this de qi) — not pain.
How many sessions will I need?
Acute issues: 3–5 sessions. Chronic: 6–10 per course. Maintenance: 1–2/month.
How often should I come?
Twice a week during acute phase; once a week during chronic phase; maintenance after stabilization.
About TCM Consultation
What is a TCM consultation?
Pattern-based diagnosis using the four classical methods (looking, listening, asking, touching) leading to a personalized herbal formula or lifestyle guidance. $50 general / $100 fertility-focused.

What insurance does HealthKey accept?

Is acupuncture covered by my plan?
It varies by carrier and plan. Share your details at booking — we verify within 1–2 business days.
About Booking
How do I reschedule?
Please give us at least 24 hours' notice through Fresha or by phone.
What's the cancellation policy?
Last-minute cancellations and no-shows may incur a partial fee — your clinic will explain specifics. For sudden illness or family emergencies, just call. We'll work with you.
About Treatment
Can I shower after a session?
After acupuncture: warm (not cold) water that day. After cupping: avoid cold water for 24 hours. After gua sha: no shower for 4 hours.
Can I exercise after a session?
Avoid intense exercise for 24 hours after acupuncture. Other treatments allow normal activity.
About Pregnancy / IVF
What treatments are safe during pregnancy?
Prenatal massage (after week 12) and gentle acupuncture (avoiding contraindicated points). Tell your practitioner your gestational week.
How does acupuncture coordinate with my IVF cycle?
Begin 4–6 months before the cycle starts. On transfer day, the "two-point" approach (pre- and post-transfer) follows the Paulus Protocol.
